Apple Withdraws Patents Claims against Samsung’s Galaxy S3 Mini

2012 marked a year where we witnessed great and increased numbers of lawsuits each filed with one Tech Giant against the other. The scene could not be played and portrayed better than the continued court battles witnessed between Apple Inc. and Samsung Inc.

However, recently Apple withdrew a patent infringement allegation against Samsung’s new Gadget Galaxy S3 Mini. This was all achieved through Samsung’s assurance that it will not market Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini within the US.

Within the U.S Northern California District Court, Apple disclosed the agreement stating that, it had also requested that the new smartphone in addition to other products offered by the South Korean electronics giant should also be included in the ongoing patent contraventions between the two tech giants. However, Samsung countered the claim stating that Galaxy S3 Mini was currently unavailable for purchase within the United States, to which Apple remarked that S3 Mini was presently listed on Amazon’s U.S stores and had been purchased and some delivered to several U.S addresses.

Talk about patent fights! But looked on from a closer view, Galaxy S3 was quietly introduced and displayed on Amazon coming at the end of last month in which it boasted of various features such as a 4-inch Super AMOLED display, 1 GHz Dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM in addition to offering an internal storage capacity of 8GB and an Android 4.1-Jelly Bean as the Operating System.

Being an Unlocked phone it was able to run on T-Mobile USA and AT&T with the main drawback being its inability to support any 4G LTE connectivity.

Although Apple had been unsuccessful in securing and ensuring sales bans for the device within the U.S it had previously contended that the device contravened on some patents which were included in its $1.5 billion court verdict against Samsung, mid last year.
